Queda tráiler suspendido sobre barrera de la I-280 en Newark

TRENTON, Nueva Jersey, EU, 29 de octubre de 2026.- Un accidente de tránsito involucró a un tráiler que quedó parcialmente suspendido sobre una barrera de concreto de la autopista interestatal I-280, en Newark, Nueva Jersey, el miércoles 28 de octubre, lo que provocó cierres parciales de carriles y fuertes retrasos en ambos sentidos.

El percance ocurrió durante la tarde, cerca del marcador de milla 13.1, en las inmediaciones de las salidas hacia Orange Street y First Street. La cabina del camión quedó sobre el separador central, con parte de la unidad extendida sobre la calzada inferior, según los reportes publicados sobre el incidente.

dan rice “it is natasha, steve. you’re looking down at eastbound 280, as you said, at exit 13 for first street. that tractor trailer involved in the collision, when it went off to the left here, it was traveling eastbound. it went over the jersey divider, and is hanging over the roadway there. that would be the ramp coming onto westbound 280. you can see that the tire there hanging over the roadway. there are a lot of fluid on the roadway. at this point, no reports of any injuries. that’s the good news. the cause, not yet known, but you can see the big problem is trying to get that truck back onto the eastbound lanes of 280. they have the heavy duty tow trucks there to try to get back onto the roadway there as we come back out. what you’re going to imagine is first, a lot of onlookers on roseville avenue there on the overpass, looking at what’s going on. but second, you have all these delays now. eastbound, a three mile delay getting into exit 13. westbound, back towards harrison, back towards the turnpike. so you definitely want to avoid 280 as they go on through the evening here. but again, that truck, thankfully, nobody injured. steve and natasha, back to you.”

Equipos de emergencia acudieron al lugar, incluidos bomberos, personal de rescate y especialistas en materiales peligrosos, después de que se reportara una fuga de combustible del tanque del vehículo. También se solicitó equipo especializado y una grúa de gran capacidad para retirar el tráiler.

El Departamento de Transporte de Nueva Jersey (NJDOT) reportó cierres de carriles en ambos sentidos de la I-280, al oeste de la salida 13.

El incidente llevó al cierre de tres de los cinco carriles izquierdos en dirección este y dos de los cinco carriles izquierdos en dirección oeste, lo que generó congestión durante la hora pico y afectó también la circulación en calles cercanas de Newark.

Las autoridades no han aclarado qué provocó el choque.
